Walnuts also contain zinc, which is necessary for skin to function as a barrier and to help heal wounds, as well as combatting bacteria and inflammation.

Beta-carotene is a nutrient found in plants and functions as provitamin A, which means it can be converted into vitamin A in your body.

This can also be found in oranges and vegetables such as carrots and spinach, but sweet potato is a great source for beta-carotene in your diet.

Getting Vitamin A into your skin by consuming sweet potato helps to act as a natural sunblock, helping to protect you from harmful UV rays and reduce the signs of ageing - Interestingly, high amounts of beta-carotene may also add a warm, orange colour to your skin, contributing to an overall healthier appearance

This means that a single cup of bell peppers can provide more Vitamin C than you need as part of your daily intake as part of your regular diet.

In a large study done, it was found that eating plenty of vitamin C reduced risk of wrinkled and dry skin with age, never mind the numerous nutritional benefits you can get from bell peppers

Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C and contain all of the major carotenoids, including lycopene, Beta-carotene, lutein
All of which have been shown to protect your skin against damage from the sun and help prevent wrinkling and ageing of the skin, as well as overall health.
It's worth considering to pair carotenoid-rich foods like tomatoes with a source of fat, such as cheese or olive oil, as the fat increases your absorption of carotenoids
